| In January 2006, the City of Snellville moved into their new City Hall, which has been called the “jewel” of the city.
This building is part of the new Snellville City Center, which includes the Snellville Senior Center, a public plaza, and future developments, situated in downtown Snellville on the site of a former shopping center. The City Hall design includes a large atrium area and gallery to house and display historic Snellville photos and artifacts. Included on the main level are the Council Chambers/Municipal Courtroom and Council Executive Conference Room, as well as the Clerk of Court office. The upper level houses the City Administration and Planning and Development Offices.
This landmark building design exemplifies the style of the historic southern courthouse in its use of symmetry, masonry and stone veneer, and the cupola that crowns the building. |
